Laptop case/warrenty Q

Does anyone know if opening up Dell laptops voids the warrenty?Stupid question but since you have to open the back up to swap RAM and they allow that, I figured maybe opening it doesn't void it.

And if it doesn't void the warrenty, where can I get a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop replacement case

You'll find the ram is a plate that comes off, and gives you access, not the whole case comes off.

Opening the case does not void the warranty, however the warranty does not cover physical damage. If you broke your case then dell will not replace it. Try ebay for a replacement case.

Taking the case off WILL void the warranty, the ram and HDD Access are relatively safe, and even if you do swap RAM or HDD, if it causes a fail, your not covered.

Opening the laptop does not void your warranty from Dell.  I am computer technician and in the past worked for Dell.  You can open the laptop and replace parts if you need to, if the parts are not from Dell then they will not be covered under you original warranty, and can void the warranty if they cause other parts to fail. However if you break something in the process of fixing or replacing parts, then you will have to replace it at your cost.
