psp battery getting really hot

kinda feel nooby about asking about this but i tried opening my psp battery so i could follow the 3xAAA battery tutorial and the battery started to get really hot.  what should i do?

Stop wasting batteries and use a regulation sony battery. Of course some of those ebay ones have been known to catch fire.  Batteries are going to get hot when they are used, but if they get so hot that it could burn you then, use different batteries and don't skimp out on them use a good name brand like Energizer.

Throw the battery away, most likely it's acid, the same happened to me with an official sony battery.  I wafted the scent and it turned out to be acid.  So be REALLY careful!

Bad, the battery in my mouse exploded it once. It was disgusting. Just be really careful about that battery

you  probably have a short circuit. check to make shure that the battery contacets aren't shorting
you can't fix stupid

never trust anything made in china or hong hong if its fake, i wouldn't risk it!
i edited the above post to make it make sense.

did it get hot when you opened it? was it plugged in to a power supply?
