my opinion about the online update from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3
« on: February 25, 2008, 11:42:10 PM »
youtubers out there might kno of ipodtouchmaster. hes actually pretty smart with the touch but his latest 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 online jailbreak method proves to be frustrating. it requires you to be online for 1 hr as it downloads 160mb onto the touch thru wifi. ive done this twice and its frozen on me. ive read forums and they say the same thing. not only does it freeze on you but it repeatedly loads up the apple icon and repeats that forcing you to go into recovery mode and recover it. bottom line you're better off doing it with a comp.

Each version of updating to 1.1.3 has different side effects like glitches. I updated using the 1.1.3 jb update and I was able to install it, but I would always get :censored:ed over and need to restore sooner or later. I tried the one where you download an app and install through that to 1.1.3 and it forced my to restore when it was done and it :censored:ed me over too.
I'm sticking with 1.1.2 and Im releasing a complete recolored theme. Play/pause/ff/rewind/lock/lock keypad/wifi/battery/lockbattery/EVERYTHING IMAGINABLE is being recolored, I'm almost done.

Loosing movable icons and those few Apple apps is a SMALL price to pay for a stable version where I'm not restoring every 2 hours.

Ok, You can still play iTunes bought music once your jailbroken! I have a bunch of albums and songs and I can still play them! And yes PvP there is still a download limit, the section that stores the Applications is the OS Partition which is 300mb. You can make it unlimited by putting a sybolic link from /Applications to /private/var/root/Applications which is on the Media partition which is the other 7.3gb or 15.7gb or 31.7gb depending on the iTouch size.

Kicks, the media section will be smaller than what you said, as a fully formatted 16Gb has 15.6Gb of space, and thats what windows tells me, so it incorporates all spaces.
