Resistors from OpAmp Electronics...
« on: March 29, 2008, 11:10:43 AM »
Hello

I am about to purchase some resistors from this website called OpAmp Electronics. I'm not really worried about the quality, just wanting some input for my resistors.

191K -

30K -

10ohm -

BTW: I am planning on doing a led sound mod.

Thanks

I just purchased resistors from there and am still awaiting shipment. Very good store and appears reliable. Also I ordered 191k 1/8W resistors for cheaper, though I dont if they work for this mod.

Note, you wont need 10ohm resistor for the sound reactive mod.

Yea, it is a good store...really I just wanted to know if those parts would work for the mod I'm doing. (I'm not sure about the 1/4W and +/-1% tolerance parts :dntknw: )

To give you a better idea of exactly what sort of mod I'm planning to do, here's a schematic:

BTW: Yes, I do plan on using a single LM386 for both the rear speaker and the led's...that won't be a problem will it?

Thank-You,
Mythtron

Oh and the 10ohm resistor...I'll be using it for the trigger activated led's....not the sound mod led's (which will be at other places  ...)

EDIT: Is the above showing correct parallel wiring of the LED's?...cause I'm not a 100% on that... :faint: )

Thanks :x: ...I guess it means alot coming from you. But also, can you tell me if the 1/4W and +/-1% tolerance will affect anything in my situation? For example, if I used a 10ohm for say....5 blue leds...?

OK I checked the sound mod tutorial and it shows 1/8W resistors like these from OpAmp: So 1/4W resistors will be fine. And again tolerance is not important.

How did you make that schematic? Its very well done.

This is wonderful...now I know that my resistor's are fine! :victory: Thanks sprocketme2!

Thanks, I did it in Photoshop...with simple shapes such as squares, rectangles, and circles...and some layer effects. I think that if your pictures are clear and easy to understand, people will be better able to help.

PS: The speaker and the led's going to the same LM386 won't be a problem will it? (ie dimmer leds or softer speaker?)
