need help with a mod choseing a pic programmer
« on: April 28, 2008, 11:08:03 AM »
ok i need the cheapest programmer that works on a basic pic just to flash it once only needs to output V+,MCLR,ICSPCLK, ICSPDAT,PGM,GNG ground is optional if it dosent use voltage control it will still work. http://pic16f84.hit.bg/ i built that programmer because it seemed so simple but it dosent out put PGM and i made it with a zener that cuts off at 5.1 volts so i dont think it will work anyway. so could someone point me to a programmer that will work i allready have a winpic configured to be compatible with the pic i have to flash. would like it to be a homemade serial one like in my link thank you.

I'm not extremly familar with makeing electronics, but my father has a general knowledge of it and found this tutorial on building a cheap programmer. I haven't read it yet, but was watching LordNic0's led mod useing a PIC, and inquired my father about bulding one. Hope this helps.

I believe Acidmods offers the chips pre-programmed. This is the best route for you i think.... They are asking 8$ a chip give or take... and to use a serial programmer on XP is a decent sized pain in the ass. If you only want to make this one mod.... They are offering an invaluable service to sale the chip at 8$.
