remote power on Gamecube

My gamecube got jealous of my ps3 so this weekend I am going to make it turn on and off with a remote.

First I bought one of these

Then I took it apart to save space and reconfigure what it does.
I then soldered connections to the 12V DC into the gamecube for power into the remote switch.
I then unsoldered the relay from the PCB of the switch and used the relay to make the contacts on the original power switch touch when the switch is on.
After that I tested to see if it worked and then I put it back together.

Then I moved on to the controller.
I unsoldered the buttons from the PCB of the remote and then attached them to some wires.
I did the same with the led making sure not to get the polarity mixed up.
I then dremeled out some holes for the buttons and LED in the controller and glued them into place.
Then I stuffed the PCB into the right grip of the controller and put it back together.

Oh I see.At 1st I thought you've made a pcb for it with all the IC's and wirelless stuff.Anyway smart thing to do.
I think my local electronics store have that kind of wireless switches.I might try it myself if I get the chance.

I'm going at a vocational school(I'm not sure if it's called like that)
and we choose what courses we like to attend.
I chose electronics and at that school we don't have ancient greek and some other subjects,instead we have electronics.

Next year I'm gonna take computer electronic classes.
