PSP Rumble
« on: June 20, 2008, 11:36:37 PM »
One night my dad brought home some headphones, saying that they had rumble. They are awesome, the best thing they only cost $20. They run from a 5v source and from a stearo audio output, which makes it perfect for the PSP. I'll be putting it internally soon and showing it off to you guys! Feel free to comment

do they respond to Higher pitchs of sounds? Or do they just vibrate to the music/sounds beat?
However today I was brutally raped by a door handle, and none of my friends helped me up off the floor after ten minutes, instead they all teabaged me, all 10 of them...

They rumble to very high pitched sounds and very low bass sounds. There are 3 different types of rumble too, the is low rumble which rumbles to most sounds and there is high rumble which is really good, I've been playing a few games on my PC with high rumble and its great in explosion's ect. I've tried with the PSP Slim and Phat and it runs perfect on games too

Sounds cool. I Stuck a vibrator To a speaker. It only Responded to High Pitchs, like crashes or explosions
I removeded it tho, And forgot to make some pics

Where are you going to connect it? Dirrectly to the headphone port?

I'm going to connect it directly to the headphone port as the motherboard speaker terminals may not have the same effect as the headphone port. I plan to install a speaker along with it as well.

my psp has rumble and i did it by using a pic 12f675, a transistor(2n2222) to drive the vibrator and wrote my own pic program. I also added a switch to the push button on the battery door for sensitivity adjustment (each time you press it the vibraton level increases and holding it turns it off).

The vibrator i used will fit were the speaker go's

This is how the power and audio are connected to pic

Any questions and i will be happy to answer them

What all do you need to program a pic? I've seen a lot of things where people use them and it would be great if I knew how. That would expand my abilities to make things.

Also a video of it in action would be great. I think rumble In a psp would be the coolest thing ever. Does it rumble good, like a ps2 controller, or is it more like a mobile phone?
Any Questions? Please Contact Me: rceckspurt13@gmail.com

it rumbles like a moble phone because a big vib wont fit in psp

as far as pic programing you need software for writing codes, hardware for programing. it might take along time to learn too if your new to programing of any sort. I use micro code studio plus

i am in the works of a vid its just hard to display it vibrating lol

Micro code studio plus Suuuuuckssss
PICbasic pro suuuuuuuuccckkks

Learn the proper programming language, asm.

I used to be like you, coding in the suck ass language, it is severely limited, and is really a beginners language. Anyone could learn to code in basic in about 30 minutes.

Nice mod though ; )
