sometimes if you dont do it right there can be a little mark where you punctured it. use a needle, or, use a stanley blad to slice the bubble open.

reaper's advice, to use a razor (which he im'd me) ended up in my screen getting cracked

$788 7-10 days, and i figured the least they could do was give me a glossy screen (thats all i wanted....)

NO
which really made it all the worse for me

the good news is i might get a new battery free

oh, the joy

someone, just give me glossy

you dont use a razor on a macbook pro lcd screen when it has no hard plastic protection on it like the psp. it like taking a blade to your pc tft screen or taking a blade to your psp's screen when you have the frontplate removed - a bit of commen sense is required noah lol. what reaper said would of been fine if it were your psps screen.

i was just taking some freindly advice,

like..i applied so little pressure, with such delicate precision, i never figured this would happen

i mean, i purposefully tried to crack my ibook screen with my bare hands using at least 20x as much force
anyway, i looked up his tip and it worked for other people...so i tried it and it bit me in the arse

live and learn i guess....but i got another screen protector online, and this time im just gona use what worked (the side of my swiss card), and im doing it with a radius of 50 feet without a single sharp object

How could they make the screens that thin and not have them break all the time?  Also, good luck with the new screen  :dntknw:

okay, i just got a call from my apple store, and my computer is ready

thats good news, considering they initially said 7-10 days, and its been....1, literally, so i am going tomorrow

i already have another saver ordered..and im not using a razor this time, im going to use what was working surprisingly well but not perfectly beforehand (swiss card)

one big contributor that also royally f**ks the screen pro's is dust, so i have devised the following plan and want you opinions, advice, or modifications to it:

when i get the saver, clean my screen perfectly (though it will be clean when i get it),
next, prepare my tools: saver, swiss card, plastic gloves, and tape (tape to get rid of any spare particles or prints that may arise, and gloves to reduce that risk)
next, to get my environment as close to dust-free as possible, run the shower till its super steamy so that all dust in my bathroom settles
bring in the computer, keep the door closed, but turn on the vent so that all the steam dissapears but its still faintly muggy (this tip i got somewhere, i tested to see if it settles dust and it does)
apply the saver, this time as dust free as possible (in my dusty environment i barely got any, so this should hopefully be free-esque)
while applying, use the swiss card this time (i used their floppy cardboard crap-card before) and get every bubble if it pops up, going back if necessary, while also keeping my hands off as much as possible despite gloves.
[
pray that nothing bad happens...

and have gloss

sound good? or am i crazy?

5 bucks says you sneeze right before you get the whole thing on  :w00t:

Edit-  I'm actually not going to give you advice, because it seems my dislike for mac COULD be the downfall of your computer

i sugest you work slowly from one corner or sid ridding bubbles as you go as that should be easyier than ridding them when its fully laid

exactly, that's part of the plan

Thus the dust free area for reduced dust risk

Btw I'm leaving in 30 mins to go pickup my computer
1 day turnaround is nice, now I just need the saver...

Soap water, apply the protector, wait until the Soap water gtfo's.

Also take a hot shower, when it's all foggy in the bathroom, go inside, apply. 0 Dust.

Oh and candle fire keeps dust away too.

Have no shame in being kindly and gentle, but if the time comes in the time of your life to kill, kill and have no regret. In the time of your life, live so that, in that wonderous time you shall not add to the misery and sorrow of the world, but shall smile to the infinite delight and mystery of it.

and have them charge me 30$ to do it after they lied to me on two counts leaving me with nothing?!

i was explicitly told that i could swap out the matte display with glossy when i needed it switched, and that i could replace the battery for free, as mine's health is not acceptable for less than a year of use 60%, basically they're only going to replace it when i have half a minute of battery life. they're just making stupid excuses to not replace things that should be: how its used. the 'genius' said that apple made tips on their site for extending its life; i cut him off because i knew that, infact apple reccomends recalibrating once a month... i do it bimonthly!

neither were f**king true and that pissed me off. i;m back to square one minus 800$

plus they dont have an airtight room, and doubt they could do better in terms of both bubbles and dust

to be blunt: f**k them, im getting sick of apple's "support", if you can call it that

oh, and as a little update, my new display has 3 dead pixels

they will replace dead pixels free of charge. and it seems like your apple store are douches you should send a polite email to steve@mac.com or steve@me.com and see if he can help you. just explain how the store lied etc

i will live with the few pixels, they arent to easy to notice..and i dont want to hassle with it right now

as for email, i sent one to steve@mac.com
...unless i need to send it to steve@me.com... which one is right?

anyway i explained the whole situation and my complete dissapointment

im 20x more pissed because i have the same exact problems and battery as the person in this apple support discussion

i called apple again and they still wont f**k do anything
