It might be a little to thick to close but if you keep it neat it could work,

You should just get some Kynar wire

some leds are brighter than others. i got red leds and there not as bright as blue ones.

Just look for a higher mCd #

And i'm doing this with some led's i got from radioshack - not exactly the ones used here, not even smd.

Just the regular 3mm LED's from radio shack?

Those you probably dont even have to solder to the LED...just strip the kynar wire and twist it around the LED wire and tape it.

I used the 0603 SMD's from the acidmods shop...shipping so expensive though. Came up to like $49 and i only ordered $10 worth of the SMD's.

Thats a good price for them...I cant buy from them though, theyre shipping info is glitched won't let me choose provinces from the drop menu when i select Canada as the country still stays as states.

Theres a place 15 mins from me that sells them for i think either .25 or .35 but they dont have them in stock and wont order them in cause they have to order 2000 of them. Let me know if you know of any other good ones to purchase from...

Okay well I just ordered stuff to do this with but how do I do this if i wanna use like 4 LED's with each speaker... do i have to use a parallel circuit or can I just use a regular circuit?!?

Also is it legal to do this to a psp and then sell it on eBay?!?  Thanks a bunch and am looking for a quick reply ;-)

I am pretty sure it is legal to sell it on ebay afterwards.

As much as I know, you can do whatever you like to your PSP after you pay for it, but for resale? Well idk.

You'll find out if you put it up there and they take it down :p

Modifying their hardware is not illegal, I believe.

:eyebrow:I thought that the best way to get the LEDs working is with an LM386 amp and some resistors. So for this mod, the LEDs don't need resistors? Also, I heard that there was going to be another mod for a switch to turn the LEDs on/off with one of the buttons on the menu bar using an IC and a resistor, but this was quite a while ago and I never saw the mod posted, though I saw it working in a YouTube video by lordnico. I don't have a PSP but I managed to make the mod for one of my iPods. It works well though it uses a 9V battery and shorts out a lot from bare connectors on the IC. Anyways I hope the tutorial for that mod comes out eventually.

whats the voltage on psp's speakers? i found that on some 603 smd's the  forward voltage is 3.0v and on others its 1.8v like here: http://www.unique-leds.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=1735  so that green led would blow up or something if i connect it to the speakers?
And also, can i use 1206 smd instead of 603?

I found this http://pt.mouser.com/Search/Refine.aspx?N=254249+4294722512+4294648921+4294628908&Ns=MouserPartNumber|1&FS=True , and i think that can be shipped to Portugal. Would they be *compatible* or do you suggest others? (that could be shipped to portugal).

EDIT: I've just have seen 20 € of shipping cost. No way ! witch others stores do you recommend ?

So, if i hook 10 leds to one speaker, does that mean the leds are not as bright as if i hook just 2?
