As long as it fits and the PSP is able to power them, then it will work.

I whud use 8 Ohm speaker and whudn't use nething over 2 watts, Unless you are installing a amp module it isn't really worth having a huge speaker above like 3 or so watts.

Just my opinion so don't go posting saying im wrong lol.

The current speakers?

Which are those the ones in the psp?

It could be the mobo's sound is dead.

you have to use the lm386 chip ;) to power those big speakers.

search for the led sound mod (not the direct contact but the one with the lm386 chip) and then just use a speaker instead of a LED

Well how long haven't they worked?
And you have them plugged in all the way?

Mobo's can have there sound die off after a while. So it can bet he mobo or the speakers.

And DD that doesn't work. The speaker will sound all distorted i think it might not even power the speaker?

It takes a few caps and such. To build an amp ask Folklord.

all you have to do to get rid of the distortion is add a 100uf capacitor to the positive lead of the speaker. I built some speakers the other day and that's all I did and they sound great. I didnt worry about the resistors in fact I didnt use any. The speakers I made run off of a 6 volt battery pack and I used 100uf 10volt capacitors and it works perfect.
