UMD Door mod questions

I have read the tuts on installing the jewels and speakers into the umd door. All of them say to use a dremel. Now I am pretty good with a dremel but there has to be an easier less time consuming way. Also a way to get a much nicer circle

I just went to my local harbor frieght and picked up a 13pc hole saw kit for $3.49! and one in there fits just shy of the metal ring by a hair. enough room to clean it up with some sand paper. Anyone think this will not work? Please I need some input or if someone has done this before

Just make sure you cover the area with either masking tape or
duct tape . Start a very small hole at the center first for a guide.
Place the door on a wood block and tape down securely.

The plastic gets hot and sags as you use the hole saw. If you
do not support it, it will move the center point and you will not
get an accurate cut.

Cut at slow speed to minimize the heat build up which will cause
galling.

Ya, I would be careful. And if you do it go full speed cause if you go slow it will give it time to heat up.
Then i could melt and get a bit messed up.
But i doubt it.

Wow so all you guys use a dremel to cut those out? man I hate doing circles with that thing, they always come out ummmm not round :P

Btw Jumbo, I find myself watching your damn sig for minutes on end. Almost expecting a different result or to see the aftermath :P

I couldn't find my dremel when I did mine, so I just used a soldering iron to melt most of it off, then used a box knife to get it perfect. Took a while, but the finish was well worth it.

u could have just used a blade and some sand paper like i did(check psp tuts

Not really. The tip is the only thing. I just used a old tip.
