According to their list it will not work .

This one will. 39.99 for just a programmer, 49.99 for a programmer , a board to program, and a spare non populated board.

THis is better:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-ICD2-5-Debugger-USB-MPLAB-PIC-Ship-from-USA_W0QQitemZ310084602469QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item310084602469&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1209%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

It comes with the zif socket for programming, interfaces directly to MPLAB and you can debug. Far better than the $40 pickit that does not come with the programming adapters.

HAZER:  I dont see the 16f833 on the spec sheet for this programmer.  Why do you say that it will work and are you sure?

The spec sheet is old. This is a full clone of the Microchip ICD2 and the device support list is updated with every new release of MPLAB IDE. The current device list is here:

http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/RelNotes_v810.zip

In the zip folder is a readme.txt for the ICD2 which lists the 16F883.

Take a very good look at the pictures. I recently purchased this programmer for use on a laptop. It is even better than the original ICD2 because it has a voltage upconverter onboard so you do not need external power, it draws everything from the USB port. It comes with a 40pin ziff on the universal adapter (same exact thing as the ICD2 has on the microchip site). You look at your devices datasheet and adjust the jumper wires for any device that exists.

I have yet to play with the debugger part, but I will soon.

Thanks for getting back to me so quick.  I think I will probably go ahead and order me one of these programmers.  I really appreciate your time.  If you ever need anything from me just ask!
Thanks

ICD2 is nice, that is a clone, not made by the people who make the chip your trying to use. Chances are very good it will work, check current documentation. If your looking for the best deal chances are very good its at microchip.com not ebay.  Though that does seem like a riduculas deal, I usually figure if its to good to be true .... it is.

As you can see here , with out the programmer, the ziff adapter is 39.99 so something tells me when you get your 44.99 kit youll be getting just the adapter.
http://www.microchipdirect.com/productsearch.aspx?Keywords=icd2

Here is what they are selling for 44.99, but from microchip.....
http://www.microchipdirect.com/productsearch.aspx?Keywords=DV164007

Be weary of things that cost 1/8th of what they do normally. . .  ziff adapters alone cost 9.99 - 14.99 from suppliers. Thats not including the board, wires, etc etc . thats JUST the ziff adapter. It very well could work, Just one of those cases of too good to be true.

I just bought the thing. I would  not link it if it did not include everything needed.

And it updated right through MPLAB 8.10.

It comes with the $40 universal ziff included. With all the jumpers so it fits all DIP PICs.

It ships from the United States, and took 3 days by USPS Priority.

I have already programmed a few 12F683s, 16F688s, and a 18F485. All through MPLAB. I have not tested the debugger protion but since it is holding the MPLAB firmware and uses a 18F4550 (USB interface) and a 16F877A (ICD2 processor) I have no doubt that works also. It also programs 10 times faster than the JDM.

Also to my surprise (and disbelief until I saw it) this actually upconverts the USB 5VDC to the specific Vpp without external power supply!

I understand how you would think that this would be too good for only $45, but there are some DIY forums dedicated to this design and the actual circuit schematic, PCB layout, and firmware are already posted publically (if you look).
