ISP Change, Permenant IP Change?
« on: January 05, 2009, 05:07:17 AM »
To those who know I was caught downloading, and this was like the early stuff aswell, lots more downloads were down after this

And they said if I get caught agian, I will probaly end up being sued

So if the RIAA are looking over the records and find my IP, if I get a new ISP, technically they wont find me because my IP is different?

I Know each PC has a different IP Address, but theyre probably just tracking the Line, aswell as your IP Address.

I've stopped Torrenting after a friend got Stung, although he had downloaded over 1Tb worth of stuff, equalling in £100,000+

Lets just say in the past few months ive downloaded about half that... Just enough to fill my 500GB HDD and a bit on my laptop

Man HD movies take a lot of space...

sorry but this does work

go offline for about a week(full week)
come back online
you will have a full new ip and all your tracks are gone beleave me a mate does it all the time.

the ips in uk are really not botherd unless you dl(childpo**,music,or anything really worth much money) i do this sometime when i get to the 1tb but if you have virgin you get up to 750tb then you get looked at.

this is no lye i worked for virgin best and i sew what people was doing alot.
come to the rite place if you kiss admins as they promote you to admin.

yes you can get a new ip whitetop i didn't dispute that but he wanted to know if it would protect him from the law and the answer is no as your isp logs each time you connect and what ip what address etc and if you get copped for downloading something the record label or software company etc go to the police ask to get a court order to release your records from the isp and then they track to the time and data that they have on record as you downloading.

Don't forget your mac address. It never changes unless you actualy replace your nic card. IRC p2p is the closest to untracible that you can get. Otherwise your taking a risk every time you do it.

Also posting about how to get around it if they are watching you is not smart

Im a bit of a noob to mac addresses and what not, is a NIC card removable (im guessing it isn't, i think its part of the motherboard)

What i might do is spoof my mac address while downloading and use my neighbors wireless

and posting about it for help, its better than just sitting here waiting for another letter to come saying im due in court. plus i thought legally they cant spy on what I am doing, i mean, yeah i downloaded a few movies, but isn't spying on the web pages somebody is viewing, looking at ALL traffic a offence due to the data protection act of 1998 (UK)?

Wait, does this acutally work?

Also if it does work, does it just have to be my computer (I CANT LIVE WITHOUT INTERNET... and games, i might just go round my friends on the holiday, he likes it when i bring my laptop and we play css 24/7)

or does it have to be all computers in the house, since my dad runs his buisness in our house via the internet, my little bro is on the internet everyday plus i do all my coursework with the internet everyday

also I managed to convince my dad to switch to Virgin, but thats if bethere try to do anything else

like we get a letter saying we miused it agian, RUN!!!!! and we change isp lol

Changin a nic card (witch can be built in) is the same as moving from one computte to another in your house.

No only changin a IP will not work because the take your ISP back to the provider and get your info. You can change a hundred times and the will still be able to take it to your provider. Also stealing some one elses Internet to aid you in your illegal activitys is only going to make it worse the next time around.

My other one got locked, for something that I didnt do, and eventually people being innapropriate

All i want is help, is that so freaking hard without having people goofing off?

Like when I am working on a PWM project, I spent £50 just on parts and took me 3 hours to design the pcb and another hour to make it

Soon as ive finished it and tested its working, something thinks its funny to snap it in half

In my last thread, there was somethings I wanted to ask, or answer, yet people goof off and now its locked, and who knows, maybe I could get procecuted, and go to :censored:ING JAIL!

dude were not flaming you. you asked weather it would work to just change it we said no, you asked how to beat it. and we said its illegal. were just not willing to help you break the law especially when you've gotten busted for it before. im all for P2P sharing, but if your worried about getting caught, and your not willing to use an IRC to do it then maybe you shouldent do it.
