It's either a short or a fried mobo. I have the same problem with a mobo i have. Its been 1 yr and the mobo is just sitting on my desk. I cannot get it to turn on no matter what.

Cant be a short, I took it out of the case and everything

And i was hoping you wouldnt say that, I sorta promised the guy it wouldnt break otherwise Im going to have to buy him a new PSP, and since stores dont sell PSP 1000s anymore i have to buy him a slim or even a 3000!!!

I did read online that its something to do with the wifi led breaking, but I highly doubt thats true

You can get a motherboard on ebay for pretty cheap. Alternately you could just buy a broken psp with a working mobo and take the mobo out of it. You don't need to go and buy a slim or 3000.

Broken psps on ebay go for about £50 here, and motherboards, very close to that

Yes really, search it into the UK ones, only people selling them in buy it nows (because they have hundreds) and they usually sell for about £50-£60
This user ships it worldwide. Just keep your eyes open for good deals. They come pretty often. Unless you want to pay the full price. Which is fine with me it's not my money. Just giving a word of advice.
