Mobile phone network confusion !?!?! (Australia)
« on: January 18, 2009, 04:59:57 AM »
Hey guys,

I want to get this phone:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-Samsung-F250-Ice-Blue-Mobile-Phone-AU-Stock-WTY_W0QQitemZ220343455128QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Mobile_Phones?hash=item220343455128&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318

but the SIM card that it accepts is GSM but I thought Next G was the best one. Can anyone clarify this for me ? I suck with phones...

Thank you Max

What is next G never herd of that if you mean 3G Im sure this phone is a 3G most phones made in 08 are, just apple likes to release obsolete over priced items and then come out with a slightly improved one a month later. GSM is a type of phone that can only be used on a GSM mobile phone network I think if you have a sim card at all this phone will work I think only sprint and verizion dont have sim cards and use CDMA.

It's GSM, thus will use a SIM card like it says.
It's also SIM unlocked.

Just buy it, put your SIM card in, and it will work.

Kk, Thanks man. I found a downside to the phone there is only one theme and the color is purple.....hip hip hooray and you can't download or change it unless you hack it and code a new theme for it. Oh well. I only got it coz I'm in year 12 now and REALLY need it. I've been putting it off for as long as possible lol.

Thanks again
Max

Next-G is just an updated version of 3G here in Australia. Our major Telco, Telstra launched it as answer and a competitor to the shocking reception for 3G networks here. Personally, I don't think its much better.
