And I recommend Ubuntu, the latest.

Just google for different ditros, they're all free.

Linux does everything.

Actually, go try out a different distro. Linux mint is extremely basic and isn't as goodwel built as other ditros.

Nooooooooo. GoS is one of the worst put together linux distros I've EVER seen. Sure the style is nice, but the actual OS is horrible. LOL

Here's what you do. Get some blank CDs, download some different distros, and test each one out. They're live CDs, which means they don't need to be installed to be used.

I was really busy so didn't have a time to explain why.

sure it's not slaxware or anything fancy but for a beginner who doesn't have much expirence with linux is a good choice.  It has ubuntu base so support is there as well as easy to find packages.   Support for drivers is much better on Mint that other distros as well.

I am currently running Fedora, PClinuxOS, and Mint, Ubuntu, at my house.

No, it's not.
Ubuntu is pretty much the most supported distro, it's the most popular.

didn't you hear me.  Mint uses ubuntu's base system, but with some alterations.  you can use the same packages as ubuntu 8.10.  assumming you are using mint 6.  mint 5 uses packages 8.04 from ubuntu.
