hello folks
i want to try something new.
i want to make a led mod where you are able to switch between soundreactive and not soundreactive! :hifive:
i made a plan
[/URL]
what do you think will it work?
can you recommend me a good switch?

It Looks Alright To Me - But I Would Get A Second Opinion As I Only Do GCSE Electronics

Sorry to say but it will be a bit more difficult than that. To do it that way, you will need to use an lm386 for the sound reactive side. To make it sound reactive without the amp, you will need both the + and - of the speaker. If you use the - and + of the speaker, then you won't be able to have them on solid.

The bottom line is that your design will work but requires an lm386 also.

That's all right:)

And where do I have to solder the lm386

I'll explain with a diagram. You'll have to give me a while though. I gotta kick my brother off the computer so I can draw it up for you.

Yep!

heres the diagram:
http://rceckspurt13.googlepages.com/diagram.jpg/diagram-full;init:.jpg

I didnt put it on the forum since it is so large. I cant remember how to resize them.

I also reversed your diagram so that the sound reactive side is on the left and solid on is on the right.

Umm it's below the right speaker connector I believe. I looked for the picture to include in the diagram but I couldent find it. I'm sure someone else will be able to post it for you.

Hello people. :)
I've just worked out a method that would probably work and be easier to do, simply using a 2n2222 NPN transistor and a cut-off switch:

Then, with the cutoff switch in the position leading to the hold/WiFi switch, you could switch on and off those LEDs, and not bother about the LM386.

I was also thinking of that as I was putting together the diagram for the lm386 way. I figured someone would mention it.

So, you think that's the best way to go RC?

Hmm I'm not sure that would work. I don't know what leds look like when they're connected to a speaker + and then a random ground so yeah, but I'm assuming it just becomes less reactive, not totally solid.

Where can I get a small changeover switch?
I live in Berlin so the shop should ship worldwide;)
In the 2nd diagramm this little box after the + what is that ?
is this the right one http://www2.produktinfo.conrad.com/datenblaetter/150000-174999/163147-da-01-en-Transistor_2N2219_2N2222.pdf         ?

Thanks again for all the help!

Oh yeah now that I look at the diagram by pspupgrade, there is a flaw. Honestly I didn't think of the flaw either but I see it now. The speaker + is what controls the flow of electricity through the transistor. Therefore for the LEDs to be solid on, you have to connect the transistor base to a solid + source. Sorry but the transistor way(as pspupgrade and myself thought it should be) will not work.

So, I guess not the transistor idea.
