ribbon connector issue. kinda urgent
« on: April 12, 2009, 10:44:46 PM »
alright, so im sitting here with my ds apart after replacing the top screen. However, the top screen only powers on if i press the connection between the ribbon and mobo tightly. If i let it go, the ds won't power on. Also, when it lights up, the top screen is totally white with a  VERY FAINT Nintendo logo. is my new ribbon connector screwed also? any ideas? i tried the tape method but it still wouldn't power on with tape. had to press it down with my thumb before it did.

You might have a bad screen.  It's either that or somehow you wore out the slot in the motherboard

I don't know for sure, it could be a faulty screen, or a motherboard issue, or a ribbon cable issue, or combination of the three.  it's probably the screen though.
