yeah many people still want them. But since Acidmods no longer makes them, most people now get them from shatteredmods.com or make them themselves.

Yeah, but at the same time, people will want their jewels.

I've still been considering getting one, and alot of others will becasue there really is no other place to get them from.

Well, you'd need a computer controlled CNC machine, either plexi-glass or acrylic, a dedicated computer, and the nessessary software.

It's alot.

Guys... Stop bashing Ken and his prices. He is only charging 10 bucks for a simple design, and Dazzerr is only charging 10 bucks per engraving. That's only 20 bucks with shipping and all. Cheap if you ask me. I don't know where you guys are getting your prices from >.>

I swear,  Some of you guys are pathetic...

You come to me and ask me for a Custom Made design...  And I go through and Manually Draw it,  taking an hour to three,  Sometimes 4 to 5 out of my day to do it..  And I do it that way so that if you want it changed,  Or edited..   To be different than the original..   (Something an Autovector Program can't do)  Some of you want professional Recreations of Logos or Edited logos..

Here,  I've done the footwork for you...   http://thelogocompany.net/

Well look at that,  $149 to make you a custom Logo..   Just something Simple with Simple lines,  It may even be made out of Basic Clipart...   And yet you guys think I'm ripping you off with a $20 charge for a Design that's made in the same fashion....

I'm a Professional Graphic Artist..   I've been doing it for a long time.  I use the money I get for bills,  and Server costs..  And it's really not even that much...

Also Elite,  You forgot to tell them about your design...  Lets see you explain this one..

Elite picked a design that is printed on a Headlight Cover..  But...   It's at an angle,  which means the design isn't straight..  So I had to extract the design from it's picture.  Make it look like it was straight..  And then Draw it...   BUT!   Elite wanted the Words PSP in the middle of it,  Cut into the image.  Now with Vectoring you can't just Paste it in there and then Delete what's behind it like you can in Photoshop,  So I Put the Text in,  And then Draw the lines around the Text so it would look like the Design got cut into with the txt..

Now this whole design is one piece,,  But then he also asks to have the outer area,  Be made into a Two Tone Ring,  So that the Ring is a Different color than the Flames,  And that he wants the PSP logo to be a Different tone too..

It took me about 4 hours to do,  And I had to redit the Final image several times when he wasn't happy with how it looked...   So when it's all finally said and done,  I asked for $15 for the design..  Bringing his whole Jewel up to $25..

Does that sound Unfair to you?  Maybe you should bother looking into what goes into Jewels and Design before you whine and cry...   I worked hard on all the Jewels that I made,  And yet you guys think I should just do it for free and be a nice guy...   I have a family.  I have a life and bills and car payments and everything..  Gimmie a break..

That is all..

I don't blame you ken, I understand. I never said do it for free. It's just we are expressing our feelings. It doesn't mean we are bagging on you to be mean or anything like that.

Dude not to be rude but I think ken is getting a little greedy in the charging for the artwork. my jewel is super simple too, it's just flames with PSP in the middle.

Yeah... I think just cause he's getting alot of business he think's he can start raising the price. Well he will loose lots of customers that way.

So really,  I back you into a corner with the hard facts and you back down like, "I didn't say that,  I like you, You are my friend"

I dont mean to barge in here but vectors are not needed for the jewel making process. All doing vectors does is waste time and bring up the price. Sure you get a better quality image on the computer but you wouldnt see the difference between an unvectored image and a vectored one on a 2.5 inch peace of plexi.

Oh Hi there Skull,  My Old Friend...

You really have no room to talk here,  Half of the images I am sent are tiny,  distorted images that wouldn't come out right if you put them into the program...   Also most of them are custom,  Which means they are edited from the original Image...  Not just taking a huge picture and vectoring it.  Most of them are edited and changed from teh original Images,  Or they are bad angles and whatnot..

Spare me your attempt at trying to make me look like a crook,   I've never backstabbed anyone on AM out of Greed..

I'm not trying to accuse you of anything, all I'm saying is just stop the vectoring, go into photoshop and get the job done faster and cheeper.

The images are too small to mess with in Photoshop Skull,  Are you even listening?

okay,
first off, I think ken is a great person, not greedy at all, and his prices are REALLY low, I dont know if any of you have seen the GOW vector he made me, but I took a picture of my GOW psp, WITH a flash in it(so it distorted part of it) and he still made it perfect, it looks fantastic,
it was well worth the $20 I paid for the vector, and I would surely pay another $20 for another vector.

Also what elite said...wow, that makes no sense, if you get more buisness, you dont raise prices, you lower them. It appears to me you dont know any buisness ethics.

also at tmandt:you have no idea what you are talking about, a local shop first of all, wont make cuts that small(most likely) you ned someone to make the art and the shop will most likely cost you $50 per jewel

Dude I understand everyone has to make a living here. It's one of those delicate balances. See your looking to make a profit and the people are looking for a deal. It only takes a little bit to upset the scale. Sure my PERSONAL opinion is maybe they could go down a little bit but then again who cares about my opinion anyway. No one else seems to have a problem so then I guess your in good standing.
