Fractal Arts
« on: June 14, 2009, 12:01:45 PM »
Alright. I'm not sure if any of you know what a fractal is, but that is the artist I am. A fractal artist. After seeing some works I'm sure many of you will recognize them. Here are a few samples of my work:

MY GALLERY

SLEEPING SORROW:

SPARKLING POLTERGEIST:

SUCCUBUS IN RAPTURE:

THE SURROUNDING CIRCLE:

Intertwined:

OMINOUS WALKWAY:

And here's a few videos of some animations that I have made using fractals. These animations generally take about a week to complete. A normal animation takes about 500 images, and to render one image takes about two hours.

Binary Series

Golden Twine Animation 2

Deep Spiral

Sparkling Poltergeist

Spiral Out Animation2

I've got plenty more to show if anyone's curious. Click the images for an enlargement.

Fractal art looks quite interesting, might have to give it a go
Reminds me of kaleidoscopes

What program do you use to make them?

I use a program called Apophysis.

:fear: WOW!!
did you do the animations with adobe after effects?

No sir. :/

For the animations I use an external rendering program called "Flam3".

Well, I can't draw or create anything in that effect, if that's what you mean. However I AM exceptionally good at Photoshop. I'm more of an abstract artist, however, and it seems to try out for the art team you need to make a sig of some sort, lol. In those cases I'm not so hot.

Also, images are repaired. Sorry about that. Don't know why they stopped working. :/

BLOODY HELL!

Is it me or is that program extremly hard to make those patterns your making?
Those pics and videos now look a lot better now that I know how hard it is to make those.
(Do you just mess around with that editor with the triangles in?)
I especially like:
OMINOUS WALKWAY
THE SURROUNDING CIRCLE

How did u export them as images? and how do you get them so clear mine look like this:
and yes thats the best I managed!

The art competitions normally have lots of different tasks, like sigs, wallpapers, render of products etc.

You could use that style in sigs and wallpapers so I would enter if I were you, got nothing to loose

Hehe, it takes a lot of experimentation. Took me weeks to make my first, non-messy pattern... Which sucked, lol.

I've just been doing this for a while, so I kind of know what I'm doing. :P

First off, update your Apophysis. 2.02 is from like... 1996. xD

http://sourceforge.net/projects/apophysis/

I'd just pick the normal one, don't worry about 3D'ing anything. Lol. You can have more than one APO (Apophysis) program, though.

And to export it, click the little gear on your menu bar at the top left.

Input the size, quality, and area to save. (I render at 1280x1024 and at 5000 quality, although that is extreme. You only need to render at about 1000)

Leave the buffer depth alone, and only limit memory usage if you have a slow machine. If you do that it will take longer for your picture to finish rendering, but won't task so much on your PC.

And once some more details are released I guess I can give it a shot. However, I won't be that good at it. Lol.

Of course not. Those are only some of my works, I've got about 130 others, heh.

Glad you like them enough to use as a desktop, though. :)

I've found that a good fractal I've made for a dark-themed OS is this one.

Also, for anyone here, if you want to see an image in a larger resolution, that is the magic of fractals. I can make any of these images ANY SIZE, without loss of quality.

So if you need one resized to something specific for your desktop, let me know. But please, only if it needs to be enlarged. It takes about 3 hours for an image to render, so if I get requested for exact fits all the time it'll take forever. >.<

dude you should fully try out, a sig wont take much work, you can even use a fractal in it. Mind if I modify your 4rd fractal down into a wallpaper for myself?

Also, I decided that since I can, I might as well post a new image every time I post on this thread. So, basically, if you want to see more keep replying here, and I'll end up responding back. xD
