Projects in progress
« on: October 31, 2009, 07:23:32 PM »
Hello, Im new to the scene, But i already have 2 projects on the go.. Both will be available 2 the whole community free of charge of course.

The first one is a simple LED flasher. 4 leds hooked up to a PIC with toggable flash modes which is selectable by the sync button.

And the second being another Rapid fire program, Both projects are being written for the PIC12F683.

Please post suggestions and feedback, What would you like to see added?

I really like the fact/Idea of your open source led flasher for 4 leds. Thats something alot of guys or gals have been wanting for a while. One guy helped us out by giving a code for the knight rider code and suggesting to use it for the abxy led install. It looks good However I know its not as good as a program that is made for its own purpose.I would love to know how to do the actual programming part. That would be on my list of programs to write and I to would make it an open source for others that cant program to enjoy as well. I know some stuff should be held back from the general public but something like this would help alot of us out!!! I am looking forward to your mod just let us know your progress as I am sure quite a few of us will be waiting. :-D

welcome to the site however there are these projects out there but there are not many coders left on the site so good to see some new faces around who can write codes

yes indeed it is good to see a new coder out there and 1 thats willing to opensorce som of his work...

the flasher code is 1 i've bin after for a while..
i've bin improvising with a code for a xmas star lol
it does the job but not as good as a actual abxy flasher chaser onoff code would be..
i would say it only needs a few modes if your interested in making it
1-off
2-all on
3-all flash
4-2light chaser. ay then xb
then maybe som random flashing scrolling mode or somthing..

Sigs made by Ken and blazin from the AM Art team cheers guys.....

Well yes, i have a huge background in C++, Perl, Java, PHP... And also very good with JAVA bytecode. So my fundamentals are there...Ive not beeing programming BASIC/ASM for that long but.. its a breeze.. abxy flasher coming up.. waiting for my ZIF adapter for my Asix presto programmer. expect a realease in the next few days. Any other projects people would like to see please feel free to speak your mind.

The led flasher will also work of the sync button. the first version likely being 4 modes one of which is off.

will defo be using ur code in the future
and yeah using the sync button to change mode is the way forward as it is only a light mod so dont really need a extra button to turn it on and off quick

here's another project/ code you could try and make...
Rapid fire ABXY....
here's a thread i started on the subject...
https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=32611.0

in summary it need to be a code with 1 set speed say 10-15 taps a second... and have a second mode which replicates the push and hold of the normal buttons...
by doing this it means you can cut the traces to the ABXY and actually have the rf on the face buttons not on 2nd buttons on the back...

Spurgurgle I was thinking that the code you gave me was the knight rider but you are who I was talking about with giving a code out. So it was a christmas star not knight rider. LoL I completely agree its great to see a programmer come on that will give a little to us non programmers. One day I hope to be a programmer giving to someone like myself.

spurgurgle.. I have a hex for the 12f683 knight rider but I dont remember where I got the code for the schematics. I dont know what goes where etc etc. I actually saved the hex had my brother put it on a 12f683 and he mailed it to me and then I cant find the wiring diagram for it. Is there anyway to guess at what goes where? I mean like is 1 and 8 always positive and negative and what not? Just curios if there is a pattern to beable to guess at what goes where. LoL I guess if really wont matter once we get the 4 led code but since I have it on a chip already was thinking maybe of trying it. If anyoneelse wants the hex to play with it and see if they can get it going just let me know.

thats wot i ad to do with the xmas star hex......

and yes 1 is always + and 8 is always -
but the other six can be wotever the coder made them.......

Whist waiting for my programmer adapter arrive ive been playing with PWM on pic12f683 for the ABXY rapid fire, So i can output low current voltages.. those simular that abxy use.. so abxy rapid fire should be pretty easy. This is another project ill defently add to my list. Im thinking for the first revision just a set speed of something like 20 pressed per second, and use the sync button to switch between A, B, X, Y.. fire.

How would people like to use the abxy rapid? Pretty hard to have it RF when A, B, X, Y is pressed, easyier to have a third party button somewhere on the controller.. I think this will be okay wont it?

my crownhill shipment came today.. order few hundred resistors/transistors/leds and Proton. Just need this damn adapter now.

Follow the schematics and connect the four leds to the ports, and disregard the other 6 LED's and you should be fine

I have recently purchased Proteus, so for those who dont know what it is, Its a complete debugging/emulation system. so i can test my code with virtual LED's or whatever, or use Graphical charts to view the vdd pulses etc.

Well more onto the subject, The led flasher is nearly complete.. its working with only a few bugs in Proteus, When ive solved these, ill make a prototype and draw a schematic for the code on a pic12f683.

Peace

EDIT

Ok well i totally recoded the whole thing tonight, Didnt take long.

Theres 4 modes in this revision and one of them is OFF.

Ive uploaded a video so you guys know there is going to be a release and im not joking around.

The video is in ISIS PIC/Circuit Simulation Tool, So imagine this is the real thing. Ive even changed the color of the LED's to match how it would look on the 360 controller. Also the button i click on is going to be the xbox 360 wireless SYNC button.

Please post all suggestions etc. And what other mode's you guys would like to have coded into the HEX.

Im just finishing a random flashing routine, which flashes the leds randomly 1 at a time! which gives a cool effect! spurgle. do you have a programmer and and 12f683? If so ill send you the code and you can test it out.  Or you can wait till my hardware arrives and ill write a schematic.
