« on: November 16, 2009, 03:45:33 PM »
Can't find anything!

Got a spare controller for this mod and all!

Searched and searched, need info on how it's done. DS3, newest one out as I've just bought it.

Please help!  :cry2:

Cheers.  :hifive:

Sorry, should have been more specific.

LED under the PS button. I opened the controller yesterday and can't see how it's done. Also solder points. Cheers!

You have to cut a hole in the PS button rubber part. And what controller are you doing this to, the SIXAXIS or DualShock3?

those solder points are for the DualShock3 only, its different for each of the 4 generations of PS3 controllers

u dont have to use 0603 smds for the PS button, you can use a 3mm DIP if u want

What through the button? I ask because the PS logo is on the bottom so the drill would go straight through it.

Cheers for this!

sorry if its a bump but quick question.

on the + and - points on the bottom of the pcb  board, can i directly solder 0603 SMD LEDs without any resistors?  or will the burn up with those points?

and i have seen other tuts using the - from the battery and TP12.  which one is better for a PS LOGO Shine?

There is a way to do it without drilling the plastic bit.

Grab the flat LED's from Radioshack, the part that makes the light in the LED is exactly the same size as the hole already in the plastic bit. Just cut off the plastic prong in the back and glue the flat LED right onto the back of it.

I've been doing this for friends for my controller and it works superbly, and it doesn't mess with the pressing of the PS button much or at all even.

Of course, unless you have spare parts with the old clear rubber button, you'll have to poke a hole in PS button's rubber part.
