Very nice for your first mod.  As for the lighting up of the buttons, dont use 4 led's... I tried that once and the psp was a piece of crap.  Theres also many things you could do randomly just by looking around here on AM.

THis is a cleaner job then most people do on there like 4th or 5th attempt. Very Clean, leds are shining to perfection. I rate this 10/10.

Since joining AM, I have considered buying an old used PSP just to explore the modding potential...

and yeah pig i reconmend buying a old psp to mod it.
they are alot fiddlier then a 360,ps3 pad to mod but not a daunting as modding a console. its good practise....

do a full led swap, and do the true rings of like, rather than boring old ROL.

led swaps, pretty self exploratory, you have done them on controllers. Just swap power, charge, wifi, mem stick leds to colour of choice.

True rings of light, rather than just replacing the silver ring with a clear window, you remove the ring cut out the area under the ring slightly larger than the silver ring, then install clear window, the PSP logo middle bit of the door, and the ring, leaving you with the edges of the ring glowing.
wait I did one a while back when I used to mod psp's, ummm here are some pics
see the silver ring is still on. Ignore the led bleeding, thats because of the white case.
