I'm not comparing the xbox live system to the PSN, just the stores where you go and download everything.

Personally I like the way the PSN store is set up. It's easy, nice and you don't have go thru a maze to find everything. People may disagree with me on this but that's why I'm posting this. The biggest turn off for me on the xbox live store (and everything else the xbox user interface in general) is the fact that the menus have no "end"

I kind of like having a end that way I know when to stop looking. it just seems to me that the whole xbox store is a mess and is very unorganized. but that's just my preferences.

What do you guys think? Which one do you think is better and what are the turnoffs in the other? I want to be more like a constructive criticism thread instead of a flame war so try to keep it at a minimum.

EDIT: I keep on forgetting that the wii has a online store too now.

I havn't seen the PSN store so I can't really judge this, but m$ decided that they weren't harsh enough here in New Zealand, so they put in some lame ass thing here where under 18 cannot download anything from LIVE. So me for being legit about my age, is getting punished, I cannot download friggen G rated free content, let alone buy maps for games I can legally own.

So Im pretty sure ps3 could top that. Btw I accidentally voted for xbox lol.

im a fan of the psn store as its more like an online store and is very useable. when i got my xbox i tried looking through the store and found it so confusing that i havnt set foot in it since.

psn is my fav, i find the layout and nav really simple to use, also psn is the only store to tell you how much something cost in moneys, wii and live both tell you in points whos stupid idea was that

its actually a very good idea from a business standpoint as they change a few quid into a few hundred points and when you pay by points you aren't actually thinking of the monetary cost of the item and therefore more likely to purchase it as its been disassociated from the true cost.

yer it is a good idea, but i always work out the price before spending points anyway so i know how much it cost

Considering I've only used Live and the Wii shop channel, I'll have to go with Live. I won't vote though because I'm biased in not using all of them.

ive gotten used to the live shop and like the layout of it expecially on the NXE dashboard and i just got psn set up today, only did a little bit of browsing and thought it was decent. but ive never liked the wii shop setup.

ive never used live but i love the PSS better than Wii

XBL is ok, I agree the points system sucks, but it's done that way to separate you from your money without thinking about it as money... the one thing that's really annoying imo though is that they offer dlc like tv shows and music vids, but to gain access you have to buy a gold membership, and then pay per dl (itunes style) for the shows and music vids etc... that's bull

...

I've never used PS3 or Wii online stores, but I would imagine it's not hard to improve upon the XBL setup...

I personally have all three systems, and have not spent much time Recently on psn, prolly six months, but when I did, I found that psn seended to have mostly out dated titles. it may have been updated since, but that is what I noticed.

@ jrfhoutx, the zune music videos are all free now, netflix movies are 7.99 per month unlimited, and access to movies by mail. the only thing you still pay per item are new movies just released.

Last I checked (about 5 minutes ago) Zune stuff was still purchase or rent for MS points...

I know the netflix is free (if you have a netflix subscription), I've had that for a while, just sucks that you have to add titles to your instant queue before they're available for you to watch on XBL, almost defeats the purpose... if you could just go through the instant titles available right from XBL it would be even better... OK they must have recently changed the netflix menu, setup, etc. recently cause now they have an actual menu and not just what's in the instant queue...

and yes everything else (TV, Movies, etc.) is still purchase or rent for MS points...

lol, that's actually a really nice feature on Live, I just wish it would run in the background, but then I wish they would let a lot of things run in the background... I hate the 'exit to dashboard message'

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who prefers psn over live. I wish there was some sort of unlimited download thing that lets me download as many games as I want but I don't think that's going to happen

Actually tri right now sony is sending out surveys for paid PSN services and well....one of the options is a 1 hour trial period for any game for free, and another one is free access to PS1 games, PSP Minis and all ps3/psp themes free.

option 5 everything and you have me sold. I didn't say that I don't like live (I actually like the live system a lot but not the interface) if psn would let me have access to say like 5 free ps1/psp/minis per month I would be a happy camper.
