mods plz do not move this to the mp3 section... no one goes there and i know i wont get any answers there either.


Ok heres my question, as i said earlier in my other thread my sis bf is gonna get me a late christmas present and he gave me a choice of that 24" monitor for 160 or an mp3 player. since the sale for the 24" monitor is over.. price is back at 230  :censored: :censored:


i decided to get an mp3 player. i pay half and he pays half :D

if you like a media manager with a bunch of drm and copywrong functuality then get the ipod.  also get if you want quality

if you like many formats and don't mind the lack of a media manager get the cowon.

umm... iPod can play DRM free music !!! And for lossless... just convert FLAC to ALAC...

no I mean the software has a bunch of copyright (I mean wrong) measures included.  like not being able to copy the music/videos BACK to the computer or to any other computer.  it's simply a one way street.   Sure you can get other software but I just view it as a pain in the ass.

No. With Disk Mode enabled you can.
With SSH installed on an iTouch, you can copy back everything even through just the cable.

With disk mode u get everything but all songs have the wrong name structure. But with manual sync , its just copy paste from within itunes. this is for the hard disk / nano ipods. Dont have an iTouch and have used it only once for 5 minutes so dunno about that...

and yes some of the stuff i do buy. most casses i dont buy because ive found something better
