iTouch tethering HELP
« on: February 13, 2010, 10:55:20 AM »
Ok so I want to get a wireless adapter for my desktop PC, and I don't really wanna pay $40 for one. I've heard of tethering and I have a jailbroken iTouch 3rdGen 3.1.2 with blackra1n.

I want to know if its possible to tether my WiFi connection to my PC, any help is appreciated...

You can't. I look into this a few times a month. So far there's no possible way.

Buy a wireless adapter. They're only like $10.

I was going through Cydia earlier and if you check under the Networking category, there's a few tethering apps...

I didn't have time to test any out, but maybe one might work for you.
If any do, let me know

IIRC PDAnet is iPhone only and you pay for it. Not sure.

How To Tether your iPod Touches internet  to your computer (Windows)

^^ I'd say give that a shot, it looks legit. I don't have a touch to try this and I don't want to use blackra1n to unlock, it fcks up my phone

Eh...looks iffy. And Blackra1n doesn't mess anything up lol

I like simple. I'll go look at those apps I saw earlier.

If you had a 3GS, you would know what I mean. Tethering to play over XBL, my phone would freeze and shut off the antenna, killing my connection. I just unlocked though. But still had to use black ra1n.

I'm going to downgrade to 3.0.1 and use the help.benm.at tethering feature.

That's tethering, though. Blackra1n itself doesn't do anything but jailbreak it.
It would freeze because the connection is too fast for the phone to handle. I'm 99% sure... it makes sense.

Probably is, I just like blaming blackra1n.

I'm going to use redsn0w once I can aquire a full 3.1.3 FW to jailbreak. The blackra1n boot time was atrocious when I had it jailbroken, >1 minute. redsn0w IMO is more reliable.

Blackra1n only takes maybe 30seconds max for me.

3.1.3 isn't jailbroken yet.
