programmer problems
« on: March 23, 2010, 04:42:27 PM »
How do I insert my 12F683 chips into my JDM prorgammer. I can't find any references to this to save my life. I am really wanting to try out topfire.

Thanks  :victory:

Really. I thought I would be able to situate it halfway between the smaller set. All of the paperwork it came with says it supports the 12F683 chips. Arghh. Any suggestions to another serial programmer that will work?

Edit: Started messing with it. WinPic reads the chip and it programs and verifys okay. Now I need to put one into a controller.

? Insert the pic into the TOP 8 pins. Nearest to the lever.

Does this programmer support the PIC? if it doesnt you will need to do a little bit of tampering.. running wires from the CLK/DAT/MCLR lines to the actual pic.

I used WinPic800. Any other suggestions? I used the 8 pins closest and it appeared to flash the pic correctly. I have yet to put it into the controller. The option in the software to show where the pic is supposed to go into the board never would show up for me, said "not available".
