« on: March 26, 2010, 08:41:47 PM »
Ok. My friend is going to sell me his ebox 360 cheap because it's obviously not turning on. Well that's all I know about it.

Now, I'm not a xbox wiz, I'm more psp and ps3 kinda guy, but how can I fix it so I can buy it? I'm sorry if this has already been asked or posted here but I can't seem to find anything realy help full. Please help :beg:

What has he done to it? Also take into consideration the selling price. If it's under $50, I'd buy it and if you can't fix it, you can sell the parts (drive, heatsinks, fans, RoL board, etc).

First thing I'd try is use a different power brick. Check to see if his gives a red light when it's connected.

check the USB ports. see if any of the pins are bent causing a short.  that did the trick for me and scored a cheap working 360!

When the console is turned OFF and unplugged from Everything, Measure resistance of the USB ports' power terminals. You Should Read Very High Resistance at least over 2M Ohms.

If it doesn't then theres a short somewhere.
