Quick Question
« on: June 03, 2010, 02:01:52 AM »
Hey guys, it's been a while :)

Down to business, Basically I have a new job. It's earning me a nice hefty £240 a month. Now here's the question = Do I get a 27" i7 iMac (with 8GB RAM), or a 15" i7 Macbook Pro (8GB RAM)?

It will be mainly used for music production and video editing.

Or should I just go for something completely different? I would LOVE to own a Mac though...

Anyway, thanks for any help you may give :)

EDIT:

Or This?

With the build, if its going to be used for music production a sound card shouldn't be missed out. I'd also look for a new processor cooler too! Maybe replace that monitor with a digital one.

Yeah that looks much better, It's always better to spend the little bit extra in the long run. Don't forget that's the price without VAT!
Ebuyer do case and power supply bundles with branded psu's so have a look round. :)

27" iMac.

All your going to do is edit videos and record indie songs.

Windows is for the grunt users of AutoCAD and other vector based programs, and programming chips and other stuff.

Mac is for what you will use it for, editing digital stuff

I don't record. I'm buying Propellerheads Reason + Record, and everything is synthesis, save for a few samples.

Get a half decent graphics card to drive the monitor.

Doesn't have to be brilliant - a radeon 4670 or 5770 or a geforce 4XX
