My Xbox 360 Project (Finished)
« on: July 20, 2010, 02:05:15 PM »
So far I only have my plans drawn, waiting to get my cutting tools tomorrow and then once I get it all cut and sanded down I will be starting my paint job. I have flat black and a mystery color planned for this xbox so hopefully it turns out good. [Only said mystery color because I haven't picked one out yet, flat black and orange is what I have planned for my xbox once I do it though] So for right now this all I have so far:

That is what I plan for my window to look like. (Sorry the picture isn't good, only have a cell phone for a camera :\)

P.S. Suggest are more then welcome so if you have any pointers or ideas for me please post them in this thread.

I'm going to. I was only waiting because I don't have a dremel or anything so my dad is getting his router from his work so I can do the cutting. If i don't think I can cut the right holes with it then I'm going to ask around and get a dremel off of someone.

Sorry I am being so delayed guys, dad keeps forgetting the router. whu I am actually going to change the V shape a little but it will still have around the same look. Just extending it.

EDIT: Changed the design slightly but figured I will post it up anyways...

Here's an update:

Cut the case, haven't sanded yet though. Gonna work on sanding for the next hour or so and if it's done by then I'll post another pic.

falo I used one of the bits I had for my dremel but for a finer finish just used a finer sand paper, nothing that's gonna make it look all scraped up even after you paint it. Just enough to smooth the edges all around. I don't exactly know the grit type of the sandpaper I used so thats why I just gave you ideas on when you pick your sand paper.

EDIT: also thank you guys for the rest of the feedback, I appreciate it.

@Toad: I am just using some plexi glass we had laying around in our garage. I'm using a dremel to cut out how big of a piece I need.

Well I got the case and controller all painted up. I haven't gotten to finish the secondary part yet though because the other spray paint I bought wasn't krylon fusion but some model spray paint and it wouldn't stick so now I am waiting to get a couple bucks to buy the color of krylon fusion off ebay because my local walmart does carry it. I'm hoping within a week I will have it completely done but I've been getting delayed a lot :P

Just to let you guys know, I am taking these pictures with a 2MP camera so the paint and stuff might look crappy in the pic but it's actually really smooth in person.

Thanks for the feedback guys, need some opinions now though. Ok in my other pictures you see the two small triangles on the front of my case, originally they were gonna be part of the window but I decided to turn them into vents. So with them being vents I needed something to style them up a bit so I have 3 styles for my vents (as shown in the picture). 1. Being an "M" on the left vent and a "3" on the right vent [being my internet name initials (also not yet cut out)], 2. being lined vents, 3 being circular vents. SO help me out and tell me which I should use.

Thank you for the 3 people that replied on which vents I should use, I have finally ordered the correct spray paint I needed off of ebay yesterday so I will finally be able to finish my case within the next couple days, so keep yourself updated on this thread for my next post when I post the other painted pieces and then my final product.

Munkee, the peach color was the closest thing I had to a neon orange from Krylon Fusion. It was supposed to be neon orange but orbviously it's a lot darker then I hoped it to be.

Mogler, I plan to make the ROL with orange LEDs along with orange LEDs around the window and clear LEDs to shine through the vents.
