First of all you will need a jtag 360, if you dont have one dont bother doing this. I think any SATA hard drive would work. You will need a hdd, SATA cable and power cable, some moderate soldering skills and something to strip the SATA cable (their a b***h to strip). i might make a tut for this, next time i solder it to another board.

Or you could just buy a 500gb 2.5 hard drive and put it in your factory hard drive case and it would look super clean.  And yes you will need a jtag for this.  Nice job though sako, i did a 1.5tb hard drive like that.

Thanks. The reason i went with the 3.5" is because they are cheaper than 2.5".

Yeah, 3.5s are way cheaper but i get 2.5 for really cheap from my supplier so i just go with 2.5. BTW anybody that hasnt done a jtag yet, i highly recommend it.  Its a great feeling of accomplishment to make one and they kick ass.

Not only that you can play ur backed up games using the hdd,  jtag can allow you to host mw2 lobbies,  most people do this  you can also run homebrew or install linux.

Hey crazy how much would it be for a 1tb or 2tb hdd from ur supplier?

I use FTP since i dont know any free programs that read hdds that are formatted by the 360,  since windows doesnt support that format. You can use a transfer cable if ur using microsoft 2.5 hdd case.  If you dont find one one to sell you a jtag hit me up i sell some.
