on resistors whats the difference on 1/4 and 1/2 ?

i want to put 2 (3.3 leds) in my hdd and its 5v in the hdd so a 47 ohm resistor will work now i bought some 47 ohm restistors but didint look to see if they were 1/4 or not and .

it says i ned 1/4 watt can i use 1/2 47ohm resistor?

the wattage of the resistor just tells you how much power a resistor can handle.

1/2 is better than 1/4 watt because it handles more power.

it doesn't effect anything.

Its the wattage. Which is basically the amount of power it can handle and how much heat it may give off. (heat is mainly for lightbulbs though ;))

the pic i have up on my sig is the pic that i did with the xbox hdd

soon im going to get the smart leds that can change colors and modes and the high speed air cooler but could you connect them together because they both connect to the dvd drive ? will it mess anything up?
