DS Lite Problem, PLEASE HELP

So, I was working on my DS lite and when I tested it out the green light turned on for a second, then the top screen gave a flash, the the green light turned off... The system  can still charge normally though. If you know what happened, or know how to fix, any help would be greatly appreciated!

what was the problem in the firs place, why where you working on it?

We need more information. What kind of mod were you trying to perform, did you solder anything to the board, were you just switching the housing, etc., it also looks like you disassembled it weird..

Try changing the upper lcd, it should work

will it turn on with the charger present as it says its charging as i had this problem and it was the battery dead

believe me famas its a upper lcd fail. I worked for nintendo in Spain and this fail was caused for a bad working of the lcd at least the nds lite i have repaired

check the ribbon cable for the lcd is connected correctly

if your 2 thoerys are correct witch they probs are (hyper999 and raf) wouldnt the bottom lcd come on but the top not or the other way around or are they both on the same ribbon as i never opened mine as it was a battery fault ?

Nahh I believe their is a connection on the ribbon cable that the console uses to check if the top LCD is there upon start up and then if it isn't it will just turn off

I TOTALLY agree with famas, I've modded  many DS Lites, and when he turns it on the top lcd is getting power, you can see it flash. Before we give anymore suggestions i'd let this guy explain what he tried to do first, bc power is going to the top lcd

I was installing the PulseVU 2 with directions from this tutorial: https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,16264.0.html
I installed everything just like in the tutorial, and for the ground I just used the ground for the battery terminal. And on a side note, when I had led's hooked up to the PulseVU 2, they turned on for a second as well, so I think the Pulse was installed correctly...

I tried that, and no, it does the same exact thing...

In that case, the hinge by the led's was damaged, so maybe mine is damaged there too? I did do some soldering there to replace the old orange charging light with a blue one, but like I said, that works perfectly...

yes, but I reconnected the ribbon, mic, and white cord, so I don't think that's the problem

try reconnecting the bottom screen and make sure the cable is in all the way, if that doesnt work clean the contacts on the bottom screens ribbon cable with rubbing alcohol and try again. if it still doesnt work check the board around there you might have damaged a trace?
