Can you over clock the psp higher that 333MHZ

yes ,but nobody has done it so far with out harming there psp.
as in they killed it.
I beleive the person got up to a stable 433mhz might have been more
the problem is it needs a good cooling system.

it increases the cpu speed, so you get things like quicker load times but it will require extra cooling

I have no idea how on a psp (not my thing) and on a 360 im pretty sure it's never been done and is probably near impossible to do.

the 360 has cooling issues as it is. even my slim 360 seems to pump so much hot air out the side vent it amazes me the thing doesn't melt or warp.

i suppose you could put a small fan in the umd door to help cool a psp if you managed to allow space for airflow through the components (i remember there being barely any room between the parts), but i'm not sure about how you could go about powering it.

just to clarify things, 333mhz is not an overclock that is the stock speed of the psp processor, sony uses speeds below 333 to reduce the power consumption. If someone managed to pull off a stable OC with safe temperatures the problem would still arise that the psp battery would be drained very quickly.

I do remember seeing some videos on youtube a while back (real?), maybe you should check them out.

Yeah. There is a homebrew app to over clock it. And it bricks if you do it higher than 460 Mhz

oh so inorder to cool it with out good air flow you could create a sort of mini freon system.
or maybe if you took the umd out and cut the sides out then a fan could be installed in the umd and it could get the neccesary air flow.

inorder to create a good cooling system you have to know the over clock you want it at so that somebody can try it and give us a temperature reading.

then we can start from there.

I would say 433 would be good to start with.

as far as battery goes just use a more effitient battery or use 2.

Yeah thats troo . I was gonna do da mod but I gave up. I took out the umd drive like you said and wanted to solder the fan to a power source with a switch. I got the fan from this netbook cooler from the 99P store Which in America is the 99 cent store.

I realised there is no point overclocking, for faster features, I mean Seriously what do I need faster with a piece of junk. I only use it for gaming in bed and sum Music. I'm Waiting for the ngp and I will get it when It comes out.

Here's the thing. The psp is passively cooled. There is no heat sinks. you would need to add a heat sink to dissipate the heat. The fan would just need to blow on the heat sink. Aircooling needs a heat sink. I have some small ones, very low profile. This might be a help with the N64 emulator. It has improved much over the years but i still can't play "Goldeneye". Well I can but its like supper slow mode. AS far as power just plug it in. Just dont over clock portable.
AS far as overclocking an xbox360 it is very possible , I did a liquid cooled box for someone a couple years ago. I think they sell kits for it now.

water cooling is not overclocking... the cooling of an xbox 360 is easy, over clocking it is not.

Screw software, you can go old school and hardware overclock by manually controlling higher voltages

(I don't recommended doing this under any circumstances)

what you really need to do is remove all the fans and heatsinks from the xbox. that way, the heat will expand the metal in the motherboard and force more electricity through it, thus forcing more electricity through the cpu. once the components expand, the reduced density should allow heat to disperse on its own before the console hits rrod stage, thus allowing stable gameplay with better fps. no software involved, OC via heat.

Except Ohm's law state that resistance increases proportionate to temperature. More surface area does equal a larger cooling effect, I'll give you that, but not so effective when the console is cooking itself. Heat does not push electrons, it interferes with them.

I think you could overclock a PSP, but is it actually that worth it? At best, you're adding a third to the power but at the same time have at least four third ad much power draw and heat generation.
