haha I remember... For those of you who are newer to the site, PvP was a active modder who was quite involved with R&D ect. He released a couple of mods, that turned out to be fake, most notably was the psp HDD mod. Kenshinnffx and some others noticed that he used some tricks in the video and pointed it out. This caused a massive ruckus and basically got him Perma-banned from the site (<-- Although he tried to return on a few occasions). So thats how I remember it, I was pretty new when this happened so I can't be 100%.

but at that time, lots of people were fooling with a way to hook up say, a ipod hdd to the psp. someone else in R&D was working with a USB host chip, i forgot who it was, but i remember taking all of their notes and slapping them into a PDF as a notebook...

It's not that he was a bad modder, just that he would lie to the community. You can still see a lot of his posts on the forum, his account was deleted so it shows it as a guest account.

thats a pretty gay mod imo. its pretty much like 10 usb drives connected to a usb hub all "custom built from scratch".

yeah the fake USB HDD mod... it was a total scam, he was in R&D for a while and he pulled that scam but then never posted a work log and could never explain how it was done and never had any internal pics, he just kept saying that he didn't want to show people or something, eventually we figured out it was BS proved it and booted him. if I remember he was also suspected of and accused of leaking high profile mods and hacking the site if I remember right... idk I didn't ever pay him much mind cause he was a

and I didn't like him much, thought he was hot

cause he was going to school for elec engineering and partied with hot girls... always had inappropriate pics of partys, illegal activities and underage girls as his sig pics...

It was a ipod hdd. The biggest thing was that he was using the usb port, and since the psp is a slave device he was trying to say he could use irshell to cause the psp to act as a usb host.

i wasnt around when he did this, but i hope for damn sure that someone would have asked him why he didnt just solder it all internally... this would free up the usb port..

who makes a mod that is that involved (if it was possible) that is, would make it all internal (based on the looks of his crap)

the only reason why he left the cord like that is because if you had no external parts showing, people would have to see the inside to provide enough looks to show that it has a mod at all.

he did do some legit mods though, i remember helping him with something in the past. his questions were legit and he wasn't super retarded.

He did the PSP USB that way so that he could show that you could disconnect the USB cable and show that the storage space went offline, otherwise everyone would claim he faked it, even though he kinda did lol...

And yeah he was a smart guy, and his questions and theory were legit and he did do a few legit mods, but he was full of s--t most of the time and a know it all douche... Overall kind of obnoxious in general...

it sucks to have people like this faking mods that i think could had been made succesful with a little help, he should had been straight up from beggining, well he mess up!!!
