You read right! As of yesterday all AnonOps website's and servers are officially down! Sources say that the activist group AnonOps had their site attacked and taken down by a single hacker!
According to the Financial Times, AnonOps.net had been vandalized with obscenities and that “login names and internet addresses of more than 500 people alleged to have taken part in Anonymous activities” had been posted.
Anonymous administrators stated "The person responsible was identified as a former IRC operator by the name of "Ryan". And had apparently scavenged the IP’s and passwords of all network servers (including the hub) and then systematically aimed denial of service (DoS) attacks at them.”
AnonOps administrators strongly urge members to stay away from AnonOps.net and AnonOps.ru as they have been considered "
Compromised". Also using or connecting to any service on those addresses may put your computer, and by extension your person, at risk.
Could this be a retaliation against AnonOps for the alleged but denied take-down of the Sony PlayStation Network? Or could it be something bigger?
For those of us who are waiting for the PSN to come back up it is my hope that this "war" will soon end and people will come back to their senses.
