News Corp. Hit By Multiple Hack Attacks: LulzSec Returns
« on: July 20, 2011, 12:57:40 AM »

They're back! The notorious hacking group LulzSec resurfaced Monday and claimed responsibility for hacking the U.K.'s The Sun website owned by News Corp. Starting at approximately 6:30 ET Monday the visitors to The Sun's website were redirected to Lulzsec's Twitter account page where it posted a tweet erroneously announced the death of Rupert Murdoch, CEO of News Corp., due to the ingestion of "a large quantity of palladium."

Quote
"This was the work of Lulz Security, dear media,"
the group tweeted Monday night. The group also whipped up and linked to a fake version of The Sun's homepage with a false story outlining Murdoch's death. LulzSec hackers also posted the alleged username and password of The Sun's network administrator.

To make matters worse for News Corp., on Tuesday news Websites are reporting that LulzSec claims to have a treasure-trove of internal e-mails from Murdoch-owned News International that it plans to release Tuesday. British website The Guardian reports News International's Web-based e-mail system was hacked by LulzSec.

But that wasn't all: while LulzSec was allegedly targeting The Sun and News International, hackers associated with Anonymous are believed to have been busy rendering the website of another British News Corp paper The Times unresponsive. That site failed around 9pm ET Monday, however as of early Tuesday morning appeared to be returning to normal.

One of the Twitter accounts associated with Anonymous didn't appear to take full responsibility for the hack, though. "TANGO DOWN," read the tweet. To be honest, not quite sure why. Consulting lulzcats say it may be a domino effect like in the Arab world.

It's not immediately clear whether or not LulzSec's apparent exit from retirement is permanent. However, the @AnonymousIRC twitter account seemed to celebrate the event as a group effort.
Quote
"We had an awesome day, loud hail to all #AntiSec vessels: WE ARE WINNING,"
wrote the group.

The hacks come amid an unraveling scandal centering around News Corp.-owned News of the World being accused of hacking the voice mail of hundreds of private U.K. citizens.

That 50 days they were on a mission was probably a quick lie to everyone because the Lulzsec group is serious business about their targets also most assume they're serious business about their claims too; these guys had concrete evidence of their actions by posting on their website. They disappeared after their 50 day reign of highjacking sites' info and ddos attacks. Jeez man now lulzsec just wont give up and yet again they're asking for rape by worldwide gov't.

Also i hope that Rupert Murdoch scum bag did die; BTW thats a waste of precious palladium to kill some one of his status they should have used cyanide instead. Palladium is more expensive than platinum and gold so i bet the killer is trying to make a statement of power and money, someone who is unrecognized underdog of authority.

im all for uncensored material on the internet lulsec is pushing it and making government try harder against the people. The u.s. gov't is exploiting child pr0n to pass a law that protects children from abuse YET it takes away anonymity on the internet because ISPs have to save a log of internet traffic and IP addresses of each customer just in case an investigation needs to take place. (its a good idea but the laws now can be abused just as much).

When the government says they are going to protect you, get ready to have some of your freedoms stripped away.

Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

user your freedoms or lose them. when as people do we say enough is enough for "safety". When TSA pads down 3 yo. when tsa strips children bare naked so see if then have bombs? if ISP do this it will be the end of internet privacy. the lulzSec team are just a bunch of vandals, that is not hacking. hacking is exploits, finding secutity holes, etc... not attacking companies.
