Broken Backlight connector
« on: September 17, 2011, 11:55:19 AM »
My friend's PSP 2000 backlight connector connector completely broke off (he was messing with it) and he asked me to fix it. I have  a new PSP backlight connector and some RMA-223 flux but I want to do this right. How exactly should go about soldering the connector? Would I be able to cover the whole area where the connector broke off with solder and put on the new connector, or would there be a short? Here is a picture of what happened.

well, im pretty new to soldering type stuff, but it looks like the solder is still there, what i would do is use a heat gun and,or just use the soldering iron and heat up the solder, and pop the new one on. but when your using the heat gun make sure you shield everything else so it doesint get melted or burned.

Make sure the board is flat, because if it isn't you will :censored: your board up with a heatgun!

I believe you can buy that piece and resolder it.
