PSP 3000 won't charge.
« on: January 19, 2012, 11:00:21 AM »
Hi, I have a PSP 3000 that will not charge or run via either AC or USB, but runs fine on battery. The PSP has a TA-090v2 mobo; searching has lead me to believe I can solve this problem by bridging a fuse.

I also have another problem, though not as critical: the PSP won't connect to any computers via USB.

The wires, batteries, and chargers have all been tested and have no problems.

Can anyone show me what fuse I need to bridge? The only relevant PSP fuse pictures i've found are for the PSP 1000. Thanks.

Tools I have:
-5-45 watt soldering iron.
-60/40 solder
-multimeter

ok bridged the fuse (TB) right next to where the AC is connected to the board, still not able to charge.

maybe you need a new ac connector or try doing the usb mod https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,13468.0.html

would a headphone wire work for the usb charge mod?

there's continuity between the TB fuse and my AC wire(the end that connects to the psp) when I plug it into the jack, so that's probably  not it.

Sorry I took so long to update, been pretty busy lately. Anyways, turns out bridging fuse labeled TB/TD worked(the one slightly north of the DC connection to the board). Only just reassembled PSP in resignation and thought I'd try plugging it in just for the heck of it when it worked. Thanks for the help.
