Battered and abused ps3 Slim

So a client of mine gave me two set of ps3 slim with two different issue. The first ps3 slim was a hard drive firmware issue I formatted it and reinstall and it works fine

but this second one :/ has seen better days.

So the story about this ps3 slim it has been sitting on the very top of the shell and one of the client family member has "bumped" into it and fell hard.

The top cover though can be skinned is very scratched


But the shell is damaged and no longer sits in right front face bezel opening is broken in half.


The wireless cable and plate is wrecked and wire is broke



Missing hard drive cover


Lower face is also broken screw hole has been broken through :/



But the question is will it turn on???

prob a busted cap or fuse i would start scanning the mobo see if you can see anything
that or the power supply suffered damaged from the fall i got extra parts if you wanna try and repair i got a psu and a case along with a bunch of intenals

Gonna scan it in a few got to ask my client if they want it or not, if they do got to charge them for the mess haha if not I'll see if i can buy off you a top sell and might need a whole new mess of parts. Gonna start taking it apart to see what other damage it might have. I am hoping the mobo is fine and the PSU has some minor component issue. I'll let you know 3d0

i would check out the psu before anything check the white connector on the side of the psu and see if theres power use a MM
if the psu is fine then tear it down and see if anything bad prob just the psu ive had a few consoles with the same issue

im still tearing it down lol alot more tricky then the ps3 phats. Alot of the plastic is so broken as I turn the screw the plastic goes with it some im balancing it while holding pliers and two set of screw driver including a hex head lol I keep you updated with photo as i get into the console more and more.

Was getting jammed up trying to take it all apart


After openning it up the board seems fine


Until I notice this transformer


The good thing is the back is also okie no broken parts


I still need to check the mobo but now I know the transformer is busted up.

yeah I am going to do that i found good deals on just replacement top cover shell around $20 to $40 I was looking for the chrome version that I used to see alot. That is if I can convince my client to give me the console

I also want to look for the led whisper fan for it that lights up with a chrome top would look nice haha
