JDM 040 - Controller doesn't charge and doesn't pair through usb port

Hi, i have a Dualshock 4, its board is the JDM 040

It turns on fine as long as the battery is charged, but it doesn't charge through the usb port and it also doesn't get detected through the usb on pc and on the ps4

The battery charges normally through the EXT PORT

I also changed the USB board (the one that has the LED) with no success, and i also tested the USB board from this controller in another working controller and it charged and detected just fine, which rules out the possibility of a faulty USB board

My guess is that a component, which i'm not sure what type is, near the usb flat cable connector is busted, i'll attach two pictures of the component i think is damaged

Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!

It's some type of surge protection IC for the D+/D- lines. First remove it, take care not to damage the pads as the data lines go 'thru' them.

Check the Common Mode Choke just to the right of that IC and make sure it has not gone open also. It should measure continuity (close to 0ohms) from 1 to 1 and from 2 to 2.



If the CMC is still good and there is no damage to the pads/traces under the IC, then test the controller.

Hi, I had ds4 with the same problem.The problem disappeared after replacement this chip (D6F). These are 4 diodes with one common point. I got it from the donor board, also you can order it on Aliexpress.

Hola veo que nadie aporto la solucion hace 2 a?os . Pregunto nuevamente algun compa?ero podria ayudarnos con este componente, no puedo saber que componente es para buscar su datasheet . MUCHAS GRACIAS A TODOS
