DS4 not charging after replacing L3/R3 potentiometer

Hello guys,

Basically the problem is after I replaced my friends L3/R3 analog sticks they wont charge anymore.
The light bar lights as if its charging but once you unplugged the ds4 it from the ps4 it disconnects and turns off.
I've checked the voltage coming out of the battery terminal and its only outputting 0.03 volts.
I need help where to start looking for shorted components.
There is nothing burnt visually on the board.
I might have used too much heat on the hot air.

also what current drain it takes from usb?

The amount of heat that looks like it was tossed into that board the charge controller could be damaged or one of the 25 (19 used) BGA connections could be iffy under there.

Im afraid of removing them for reading, they are so small and i think i would lose them in the process.

I'm getting .13 volts from the battery connector

unless you want to build a test bed, swapping for a new one/known good one should be a good enough test

but tbh if your controller ain't charging and the charging controller is getting hot, I'd say thats your problem, but there could be more

looking at the ever shrinking foam (and burned board), you seem to be putting more and more heat into it, if you're causing problems with that it may be better to work on that first

I have a dead jdm 055 lying around which i also broke, but the charging controller is different from the jdm-001.

Yes its totally different.
