Hey all, brief summary:
- controller only charges for ~30 seconds and suddenly stops. Reconnecting the wire gets another 30 secs.
- If connected to the console, controller will charge for ~30 seconds, stop and show "?" in the battery symbol on the console.
- Reports around 2 bars of battery but when connected to PS5 but reading is completely inaccurate
- if the battery dies while playing, the controller won't connect back to the console for a little while
More info, I was repairing drift, ended up disconnecting the wires from the battery pack. I pried open the battery and soldered them back, pic (it?s bad):
It worked at first, but now I'm having the issues listed above.
Everything else works completely fine, But the battery is a huge issue. I was just wondering if anyone knew what was wrong and if there was a possible fix? Or is it possible it's not the battery at all?
As a side question, I'm looking for a replacement battery from the likes of eBay/Marketplace. Lot of people list as new but is there a way to check the actual capacity of a Dualsense battery to know if it's new/good or used/bad?
Sorry to ask but I genuinely have no idea where to go for answers, I tried reddit and was basically told to chuck my battery but I want to know what went wrong.
Thanks!
