man everyone loves magnet wire
It actualy comes with the modchip kit. I only realy used it in the absence of anything else.Update: I am wiring up the controller cable at the moment.
Update. I have finished the ps2 controller rewire (I hope) it now has a 15pin socket in the back. Cant post any pics till tomorow as I killed my card reader for an unrelated mod. Grrr. Test in my conections now. I dont know how to test the left analoge without it being attatched to the psp though.
D-Range 15-Way Plug from maplin. Its not pretty but its the bast I could fined. I'll try to find a wide bit of shrink rap to cover the plug, that should make it look a bit nicer.Rewiring part of my cable at the mo.
I thought you where going to use mini usb? did you not recieve the package yet?
The cable I am making has a 15 pin on one end, it has 4 cables coming out on the end of those is the mini usb's. So the controller has a 15pin socket and the psp has 4 mini usb sockets. It could be done with 4 sepetate cables but I thought this way would be neater. The package hasnt arrived. Its going to my work and I am not there till mon. So I am gona do everything but put the sockets in the psp now, then hopefully I caan put them in on mon.
ok man keep us posted
Update. All the buttons work. But the right stick dosent. I am gona check my wiring but I think its the way I moded it. I have a few more so I'll just do another.Edit: It was a bit of both. I am gona have to take this one out and put another in. bumEDIT2: Fixwd it. I now have a socket on my ps2 controller that conects to all buttons and both sticks. I rule!
post som video please
I think your getting the wrong idea. What I have is a ps2 controller with a socket in. I've tested all the buttons with a multimeter, not on the psp. Also I cant upload anything till I get a new card reader. It looks pretty cool. But I wont know if it actualy works till I get it wired to the psp.I'll do that tomorow. I am to tired to solder now. Also I have one problem thats bugin me. The hardest part was wireing the dpad on the psp. One of the conections isnt very good and sometimes stops working. Its fine as long as I dont touch it to much though. Does anyone know a good way to get hot glue off if it comes to that??
I've just been thinking abou the tutorial for this. Looking at the pics I have, its going to be pretty hard for some one to follow the wiring. I need to draw up a proper diagram. Can anyone recomend a good freeware program to do it with??
sort off. I am just trying to figute out the easyest way to explain what I've done. It was pretty tough to try to figurre out the best way to wire the plug. If other people are gona have a go at this I need to make it as simple as posible.
Cool, I'll have a go with that.Btw I am runing a live 3v line to the controller too. Get some LED action going on in there.
Nice to see it all done, can you snap some more pics of the wiring and the PSP install?Kudos on finishing off a project - All the way from idea to execution.
Busy trying to get hold of a white PSOne pad at the moment to match my ceramic console then I'll be starting on this mod.Pyrot - I'm interested in the tilt mech, thanks for the offer. Can't reply to your PM as I have no idea how to get into the PM thing without the flashing 1 at the top
