uh I don't think it matters, just one is more expensive and

It's not really important to have different color kynar (I just used one color) but it just makes it easier for you to identify positive and negative.

A few questions cause your links are broken. What exactly do I NEED in this part?

I don't know how to do that.

Also what type of resistors do I need (how many ohms) and lastly, how you did your sound mod? the way Jumbo said to do it was just wire the + and - of the each LED for L and R was just solder the LEDs directly to the contact points of the speakers and that's it. Is that how you did your sound mod? since the links no longer work I'm really confused. Please help!!  :beg:

Really?

Come on, he says the value of the resistors.

Quote
1x 191k-ohm Resistor
1x 30k-ohm Resistor

Jumbo was talking about direct contact leds.

This way uses the IC.

And there are many diagrams drawn in this thread, such as the one by Wowzerz:

am i doing something wrong??

this is what i got.......

Dude, take the time to read, do some through searching, and Then ask questions.

btw wowzerz it looks fine to me.

so you only need it hook it up to 1 speaker for both L and R? also are the contacts on the IC labeled? (don't have it yet) cause it's really REALLY small..

and lastly can I hook up multiple LEDs to L and R? like 2 LEDs on L and 2 LEDs on R?

Yes.

If you wanted to hook up more than one led yes, but depending on what is wanted, there may be more.

As for the contacts, pin one will be labeled by a dot.

If you know where pin one is, you know where the others are:

ok, so I can have 2 sound LEDs in the triggers and 2 LEDs in the UMD door? do I solder 2 wires directly to each contact?

Yes to the First.

Yes to the second as well, but you can solder 1 wire to each contact (I'm assuming you mean the pins) and then connect as many wires as you want to those wires. Allows for a much cleaner mod.

so it would look like this? Oh BTW is my wiring correct? I wired them in parallel did I or didn't I? I'm not sure lol but I think I did.

Looks right to me.

So I did something right? :D

They are wired in parallel right? cause I don't want everything to die if 1 goes out. Oh and why is the start at the + mint colored then changes to dark red?

And the neon green goes to... what resistor? there are like 10 resistors on the PSP circuit boards.

ok ok.. sorry I read it the first time, but I didn't memorize it. Just trying to get all the info I can before I start, jeez.  :eyebrow:

Is this mod going to be VERY reactive? or only semi-reactive?

Well sorry, but it starts getting annoying when one has to state the same information twice. But no this won't be very reactive, only semi. I suggest transistor method or direct connect.

Ok, do you have a tut to the "tranistor one"? cause I have no idea what that is. Second, by Direct Contact you mean from the speaker contact points + and - to the LEDs? but can I turn them on and off still? is there a way to have active LEDs that you can turn on and off?

I didn't give you a bloody answer, cause I said to Search.

Yes direct contact are DIRECTly connected to the speakers.

And of course you can turn them on and off.

In order for you to do that, you need to use the search.

It's there for a freakin reason.

Need I say search any more?

Yeah, there's no way to turn them on and off if you use direct contact.

you have to add switch to it in a certain spot to turn them off. Or you can use the hold or wifi.
