Suggest looking at AMD quad core.  don't know it's overclocking abilities because it's brand new.  more caches and different sizes.  it's cheaper by 10 USD.  Also if you try to overclock it to 3.0 it's going to be hard for the Quad to get to.  you will need another heatsink to get it that high.  they create a lot of heat

AMD's Quad Cores are actually Quad Cores, not Like Intels Quads (Basically 2 Duals on 1 chip)

So, i would go with the new AMD

What you have to do, is realise, whilst the faster it is, the faster it will be, technically a 2ghz dual core is 4ghz, and a 2ghz quad core is 8ghz, its just you have more than one.

On a Dual core, you could have 2 apps running with 2Ghz each, on a quad, you could have 4 apps running with 2ghz each.

It depends whether you are going to be multi tasking more, or playing games.

(BTW, 2ghz was an example)
