Hi,
Is there a way if I have a buddies IP address I can play online via the internet without the sony servers?

All games are need to be hosted via a server. you can get a privite one, but i am unshure if this will work on the ps3 network

you cannot enter an IP Adress to host games, you have to use the servers setup by the companies.

You can have lan games though, but everyone needs to be on one connection.
