so every one go out and buy a magazine

From: "**********"
Subject: Official PlayStation - Interview!
Date: Tue, 11 Dec 2007 10:15:10 +0000
To: "Mark Hammonds" <badmin@acidmods.com>

Here are those questions I've been promising! If you can get some answers down tonight and emailed over to me for tomorrow that would be great!

1. Tell us a bit about yourself, your real name, where you live and your day job!

1: My name is Mark Hammonds I am a grandpa from Houston Texas and I work for Hewlett Packard That is my beautiful wife Adelina in the picture holding my guitar.

2. What made you decide to mod the guitar?

2: Well I decided to mod the guitar because it has not been done before and I was terrible at the game. I hang out at a dedicated modding site were you can find some of the most bizarre mods from PSP’s with Duel Nubs perfect for first person shooters to PSP’s that change color’s based on where you touch it. I have been modding for a long time.

3. What materials do you use? Are they hard to find?

3: The materials use most often are common resistors, capacitors, IC’s (Integrated Chips) and are easy to find in most RadioShack’s but for the odd item Laser Diode or Flux Capacitor    I have to order it from Mouser Electronics.

4. What was the process for making a mod?

4: The processes for modding is simple first come up with an idea then research the tools and materials needed to complete the Mods and last but not least never quit anything can be done.

5. Are you a big gamer? Do you like Guitar Hero?

5: I love to Game my favorite are FPS (First Person Shooters). I thought Guitar hero would be an awesome game and I get all giddy if I hit a few notes but I am horrible at it so I decided to change a few things to improve my performance.

6. What do you do with the pieces when you're finished?

6: When I’m finished with a mod and the tutorials have been written for the world I will usually part out the device for future projects.

7. Do you sell them anywhere?

7: I never sell mods I do this stuff to teach kids about electronics most people who come to my site find a very friendly environment free from the negativity of the rest of the internet. I pride myself for having a safe haven for kids to learn skills. I have some really amazing 14 year olds soldering some of the smallest components and doing a better job then some of the guys that do it for income. Also I believe modding is something parents can do with there children as a hobby it is good to teach kids early about problem solving.

8. Have you got any future mod projects in mind?

8: I just finished making an optical array for the guitar this allows the guitar to play the game by its self. To achieve this I had to create an application to send pulses of light to the guitar to instruct it to play certain notes.

9. Are there any pieces you'd like to make but seem like too big a project?

9: There are never any projects that are to big to accomplish the only thing that sometimes restricts us is budget.

10. What are you working on right now?

10: I’m being flown to Barcelona Spain for a Mod we are working on for a huge company on the 19’Th of December it is a huge mods and will be broadcasted world wide. If by chance you can edit this after the 19’Th you can tell your readers about it but since I signed a NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) I cannot divulge the info till after the commercial.

11. Where can people see your work?

11: All of my work and the work of F00 F00, Neubit, Can We Hack It?, L0rdNic0, and many other awsome modders can be see at AcidMods.COM

So every one we will most likly be in he next issue Jan or Feb so go out an buy it..

Hey I'm 15 not 14 :'( gz

Have no shame in being kindly and gentle, but if the time comes in the time of your life to kill, kill and have no regret. In the time of your life, live so that, in that wonderous time you shall not add to the misery and sorrow of the world, but shall smile to the infinite delight and mystery of it.

very nice - but i agree maybe they should of gone a bit more in depth but then you need to think that simple is sometimes better for the first time round to draw there readers into the modding scene then any subsequent interviews could go a bit more in depth.

OPM differs from country to country. So it may be only the US that gets it.

Update:

Quote
Hi Mark!

Just getting in touch again about the Guitar story. The folder I saved all your brilliant photos in has been cruelly lost in a server reshuffle, and the links you gave me longer work. Could you resend them all? Sorry to be such a pain!

We're putting it into issue 16, so it should be out in Feb, and I can send you some copies as soon as it hits shelves!

Rachel : )
