new switch position idea

after looking around my psp to find an alternative place to put a switch, i thought about the infrared slot. if that black thing at the top was removed and then de-solder the infrared device then there would be a slot to put a switch instead of dremeling behind the battery cover.

i tested to see if this slotted into the hole at the top and it did really nicely, what im not sure about yet is if the whole switch fits by removing the actual device. i might try to do this but if anyone else wants to have a go then go ahead.

you can if you want go ahead, i just used that switch as a test and i did fit in the infrared slot just not sure if the whole switch fits inside the psp.

If you were gonna use a PIC i'd go with heat sensitive resistors.

i had a freakin awesome idea with a momentary switch button. you know the push button for the battery cover? i placed one right behind it and it fat perfectly. the momentary push button was pushed by the pins behind the battery doors push button. i tried asking people what would make the momentary push button not momentary. got no help so i gave up on that idea. great spot though someone should try it

u dont have to. that 3way power switch thats connected to the power pcb has 2 different switch types on there. when you push it upwards its a momentary push button. when you push it down its a regular switch.

my first thought of him saying that was primarily for the power button. if he wanted to wire up the power button to a momentary push button and then relocate it thats fine. for the hold switch, i highly doubt he'll use that, mind as well do some type of hold switch mod for leds or rumble. as for the switch for that you'd have to use a regular switch.
