Try Windowblinds, but it doesn't cover the task bar, so you are pretty much stuck like that.

Found this about a year ago making my xp look like vista. Also has a 2k - xp. Be careful.. It actually changes your system files.. Not any cover-up stuff like WindowsBlinds, etc.

Thats the easiest way.

It isn't that expensive now that vista is out.
